The Gernsheim Rhine ferry is the only way to get between the two Rhineland-Palatinate cities of Mainz (Weisenauer Brücke) and Worms (Nibelungenbrücke Worms) by car across the Rhine, along with the Landskrone Rhine ferry in Nierstein. The Rhine ferry connects the city of Gernsheim on the Hessian right bank of the Rhine with the Rheinhessen municipalities of Eich and Hamm on the left bank of the Rhine.

It's definitely worth stopping here to watch the comings and goings. Everyone is having a great time. There's something to eat or drink on either side. And, not unimportantly, there's also a public restroom, and it's very clean!
