"The Pilghauser Bach, called Katternberger Bach in the 19th century, is a river in the mountainous city of Solingen. It is named after the three Pilghauser courts through which it flows.

The Pilghauser Bachtal is accessible by hiking and forest trails in the area, such as the circular hiking trail through the Pilghauser and Nacker Bachtal (Solingen) with the SGV signpost of a white circle on a black background.

Due to its small size, the Pilghauser Bach was only of secondary importance for the use of hydroelectric power. Only with advancing technology and increasing exhaustion of the capacities in the other Solingen streams such as the Nacker Bach were four water turbines built on the Pilghauser Bach in the middle of the 19th century. These included the Pilghauser Kotten, the Bernskotten, the Neuenhauser Kotten and the Brücker Mühle, for which all concessions had been applied for in 1846. The industrial use of hydropower ended in the 20th century with the cessation of the last grinding and grinding operations. ..."
