The train station is the end or starting point of the Lötschberg-Südrampe hike. The Valais Sun Trail also runs along here.

Such a lovely mini-station! Upon arrival, I had to wait until the train started, so I took a look around. Clean and heated restrooms. The waiting room is also heated, with a large table and a corner bench. It feels a bit like a museum.

From the Hohtenn bus stop to the Hohtenn train station, the hiking trail is very poorly marked!!

The Lötschberg summit tunnel will be renovated from December 2018 to the end of 2024.
This has the following effects on the timetable: Hohtenn will only be served every two hours instead of every hour. Two fewer trains will run from Eggerberg in the morning towards Brig–Domodossola. Lalden will not be served. Bus connections from "Lalden, Dorf".
