The city of Waren lies on a narrow headland and is surrounded by three lakes. The port is a popular attraction for locals and guests. Waren is an ideal starting point for tours around the lake and into the Müritz National Park, but also invites you to stroll through the old town streets.

Waren (Müritz) is with more than 21,380 inhabitants a Mittelstadt and a health resort in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is the seat of the Lake District Wares goods, which includes 19 municipalities, the city itself is free. Waren is one of the 18 Mittelzentren, the eighth largest in terms of population and the second largest city in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in terms of area.
Goods, which emerged from a Slavic settlement in the early 13th century, were expanded by Westphalian settlers in the context of the Ostsiedlung and for eight decades residence city of the princes of Werle. It belonged to Mecklenburg-Schwerin for centuries. The city recovered only slowly from numerous city fires, epidemics and the aftermath of the Thirty Years' War.
Today Waren is the main town on the Müritz and a center of the holiday region Mecklenburg Lake District. The largely well-preserved old town with many historic buildings, the NaturErlebnisZentrum Müritzeum, the festival of the Müritz saga, the city harbor and the regional nature are major attractions. Beside the tourism important economic branches are also the food industry and the mechanical engineering, the world market leader for large propellers Mecklenburger metal casting is based in Waren. In addition, the city is a regionally important transport hub as well as a training and vocational school location.

Waren is a beautiful tourist center with the harbor as an attraction. Goods are shared by the railway and federal road. There is an underpass at one point to get into the northern part. The highlight for me there is the "Hotel Am Tiefwarensee", led by the Lebenshilfe. They are also geared for bikers.
Above these hotels lies the open-air stage of the "Müritz saga".
