There's not much going on here on the sandy beach that stretches across almost the entire coast... in the back part away from the city it gets rocky... Beautiful lava formations incl.

The beach of Porto Santo is great. You can easily go up and down and order a drink at the Calheta or in the town as a reward. The best travel time is April through October. But it's all year round. Is always nice. Sometimes, swimming is still possible in November. Buses do not always go through completely. In the hotel zone you still have the best chance to get a bus. Otherwise it is about 6 km along the road to the center (Calheta center).
