On the Main Bazaar in Leh, you can meet all kinds of open-minded Indians, who mainly trade in carpets, cashmere scarves and other souvenirs. Of course, as a tourist, you immediately become the best friend of every single retailer, and you almost can not avoid seeing every shop from the inside. There are always plenty of chai and anecdotes for carpet knitting or cashmere goats. Apart from that, you can of course find great food on the Main Bazar, even though the true treasures of Indian cuisine are hidden in the alleyways. But beware: often a strong stomach is needed!
