    On the plateau of the southern spiral in 1992, the summit cross was erected, which was made on the occasion of the visit of Pope John Paul II on May 2, 1987 by trainees of the mine from Spurlatten and blessed by Bishop Franz Hengsbach on Good Friday of the same year. It is part of a crossroads with 15 stations, which begins at the Kleekamp, ​​and for a while also marked the Haldenspitze as a landmark. Further landings north of the cross later make the plateau no longer the highest point. The Way of the Cross designed by Tisa von der Schulenburg and Adolf Radecki was inaugurated in 1995 by Bishop Hubert Luthe. There are regular processions on Good Friday. The Way of the Cross is combined with a mining trail with typical machinery and equipment from the mining industry.

      A popular destination in the north of Bottrop is the Halde Haniel, which in addition to walking and kite flying also has a crossroads and much artistic to offer - in addition, a wonderful view of the mine Prosper and the northwestern Ruhr area.
      Every year on Good Friday, thousands of believers meet on the Halde Haniel. In 1995, a Way of the Cross was inaugurated there, created by the artist and nun Tisa von Schulenburg, the Oberhausen artist Adolf Radecki and trainees of the Prosper-Haniel mine. Each station consists of a copper plaque depicting the sufferings of Christ and a working tool from the miner's world. Thus, a path has been created, which also illustrates the traditionally close relationship between church and mining. Not least because of the influx of Catholic immigrants at the beginning of the 20th century, this relationship has been reinforced. A high cross on top of the heap commemorates the Pope's visit on 2 May 1987 at the Prosper-Haniel mine. Trainees and trainers of the mine made it out of track slats (guide rails for the conveyor baskets) and set it up on the Zeielplatz Haniel. Five years later, the restored cross on the southwestern tip of the heap found its final place.
