The Kreuzstein is a powerful granite stone and marks the border between Bavaria and Bohemia. A carved cross is clearly visible on the south side, while the inscriptions on the east side "Bohemia" and on the west side "Bavaria" can only be seen in good light. A furrow on the plate indicates the boundary line. Otherwise the stone bears a number and the year of the last border in 1843. The cross stone has probably marked the border for around a thousand years.

The information point on the Kreuzstein is located directly on the Bavarian-Bohemian border and offers information about the Kreuzstein, the area and the hiking trails as well as a small shelter.
