Beautiful family hiking trail and to be recommended in every season! 😊 The path leads uphill or downhill in a wave movement and is lined with beautiful trees of beeches and individual conifers. Many information boards provide information about the area and lookout points allow you to see the beauty of the lake and the area! 👍🌇

Steckelsberg is really great. From this cliff there is a nice view. The old observation tower is no longer standing. (Was only a concrete block anyway). Somewhat hard with a stroller. However, kids do have a bit of a problem.

On the Streckelsberg, the highest point on the outer coast on the island of Usedom, there was a Wehrmacht observation tower from the 1930s. It fulfilled two functions: on the one hand, it served to observe the air situation in the run-up to the important port cities, on the other hand, it served as a measuring station for observing the missile tests of the Peenemünde research institutes. The tower was demolished in 1997.
The Pomeranian Bay was the test area for the flight tests of various guided weapons. The A4-V2 rockets flew past the Streckelsberg, around 300 km parallel to the coast, from Peenemünde in an easterly direction to the Bay of Danzig. On the observation platform of the Koserower Tower, a so-called cinema theodolite was used for optical tracking of the rockets and other remote-controlled weapons, such as the Fieseler Fi 103 (V1) flying bomb.

As soon as things go uphill, you hardly meet other people. The "Höhenweg" is closed to cyclists and is not suitable anyway. But since the trees on the steep slope have already grown properly, the view mentioned earlier is only possible at a few points.
