Your stepping stone into the wilderness!
The TorfHaus National Park Visitor Center is located directly at the large car park and the Torfhaus bus stop. A visit is worthwhile in any weather and at any time of the year. In a barrier-free and family-friendly exhibition on two floors you will find exciting insights into and views of the Harz National Park and learn how wilderness is becoming reality again here. In the shop you will find a large selection of resin and nature books, hiking maps, souvenirs and much more.

The TorfHaus National Park visitor center is a popular starting point for numerous hiking and adventure tours, such as the popular Goetheweg to the Brocken or the Moorstieg over the Große Torfhausmoor.

Regular: April – October: daily 9 a.m. – 5 p.m

November - March: Tue - Sun 10 a.m. - 4 p.m
closed on Mondays (except public holidays).

Admission is free.

Arrival and accessibility
The TorfHaus National Park Visitor Center can be reached by car and public transport. It is barrier-free and has a disabled toilet.

Torfhaus is one of the hotspots in the Harz region: the starting point for many hikes, school hothouses, the visitor center of the Harz National Park, large parking lot, Brockenblick, a shop for outdoor equipment, restaurant "Bavaria Alm" etc.
