The path from the Saletalm to the Fischunkelalm leads along the banks of the Obersee, in places the path is narrow and steep. The hiking trail is also secured by a railing (ropes) on the rock face on the banks of the Obersee.

The Obersee

Separated from the Königssee by a moraine wall since a landslide in 1172, the Obersee is the little brother of the Königsee. From the Fischunkelalm the ascent to the Röth or to the Wasseralm is possible; This makes it a popular starting point for mountain tours into the Steinerne Meer.

Fischunkelalm & Röthbachfall

The Fischunkelalm is a managed alpine hut on the southeastern bank of the Obersee. Above the Fischunkelalm is the Röthbachfall, the highest waterfall in Germany. In the summer months, the Alm is managed and a popular place to stop for refreshments.

A real classic and beautifully landscaped. Fantastic when the surrounding mountains are reflected in the crystal clear lake. It is best to come here with one of the first boats. Then you have a little more peace and can enjoy the beautiful nature a little more.
