Hessenstein Castle is an impressive and well-maintained castle complex high above the Edertal. You can visit the inner courtyard of the castle, which is used as a youth castle and educational facility.

A beautiful castle, even if it is not open to the public. It is now used as a youth hostel. Nice circular route from Schmittlotheim. The circular route is possible with sturdy shoes and a stroller.
