The Tarmstedter Moor is an offshoot of the Teufelsmoor and extends west of the village Tarmstedt.

A moor path leads through the flora and fauna of this exciting habitat. Stroll through cotton grass, whistling grass and moor birch, learn more about the beasts living in the moor and learn how peat was once made.

Route description:

Via the Rothensteiner Damm the moor route leads through the Tarmstedter Moor to the Moorpfad. Get to know bog, marsh and heather plants in their natural habitats or visit a lore. On such lorries, the peat lands used to be transported to dry. The dried peat was finally transported to Bremen as a burning peat with peat barges.

Enjoy the tranquility of the area with a break at the two bog ponds. A refuge and a sheepfold invite you to linger.
