The medieval town of Blankenrode and its castle lay on this hill. Only the Jungfernbrunnen remains of the complex, but numerous ramparts and ditches bear witness to the former city fortifications. For some time now, solar-powered automatic audio announcements have been installed at prominent points, which are intended to bring life in the medieval city closer and are triggered by motion detectors. If you drive past it for the first time without knowing it, you can get scared. ;)

Otherwise, a detour to the urban desert is also worthwhile. From here, numerous beautiful trails lead in all directions.
