Like a fairy tale, the Askanierturm, inaugurated in 1879, stands on a hill surrounded by trees at the southern tip of the Werbellinsee, where the Ascanian castle of Werbellin is said to have once stood. Located directly on the Berlin-Usedom cycle path, you can look out over the Werbellinsee from the Askanierturm and catch a glimpse of the Werbellin Canal.
The key for the Askanierturm is available at the Café Hotel Wildau - a five-minute walk away. Adults pay €0.50 to climb the tower.
