From the guest house "Lechnerhof", 1586 m (with parking) the marking 66A and the sign "Sambock" following it goes on foot and forest roads usually only moderately rising to the tree line and then over mountain meadows past "On the plates" on the grassy ridge to the summit of the Sambock (2396 m). Grandiose view rewards the ascent of about 2-1 / 2 hours.

The very scenic summit of the Sambock (2396m), which is situated above Falzes, is easily reached after an approx. 2.5 h hike from the approximately 1580 m high hamlet of Platten. If you want a bit more action, you can hike along the ridge on the north side of the Sambock after the summit rest. After some ups and downs and a few wire-secured places, you are on the main ridge between Pustertal and Mühlwalder Tal, on which runs the Pfunderer Höhenweg. From there you can descend back to the plates in several places and so hike a great round. Refreshments are not that many. If you do not want to give it up, you will soon arrive at the Plattner Alm on the ridge.
