You can reach Gut Brodau by driving a short distance inland from the Baltic Sea along flowering meadows and cultivated fields. Although the estate, which is surrounded by a moat, is privately owned and not open to the public, you can still see the gatehouse and the estate owners' home from a distance.

Gut Brodau, where the manor house was built in 1530 on a castle island surrounded by a wide body of water, is one of the oldest in Schleswig-Holstein.

Through a beautiful gatehouse you enter a very large courtyard, which was probably given its current appearance by its first owner, Heinrich Rantzau.

The manor house, which has been owned by the von Ludwig family for a long time, is a simple, two-story half-timbered house with artistic decorations such as carved late medieval knobs and palmette carvings on the bases.
