The SauerlandRadring cycle route, which runs along the former railway line through the Kückelheim Tunnel (also known as the "Bat Tunnel") from Fehrenbracht to Eslohe, is closed from late October to early April to accommodate the hibernating bats.

In winter, the tunnel is closed for conservation reasons. In order for the bats to keep their hibernation, a diversion is set up for the winter months.
If you come from the direction of Eslohe, follow the signs above Obersalwey, Schliprüthen, Fehrenbracht. From the other direction it goes from Finnentrop-Serkenrode via Fehrenbracht, Schliprüthen, Obersalwey, Niedersalwey to Eslohe.
