        An alternative route for those approaching from the west from the Urschner Höhenweg and not wanting to continue directly on the hiking trail to Andermatt.
        First, you pass old military barracks on the hills, then descend steeply on gravel and asphalt to the main road in Schöllenen (note: rejoining the main road can be difficult due to constant traffic!).

          The climb is quite hard because it is steep and partly gravelly. It is also suitable as a descent after the Urschner Höhenweg for those who do not want to ride the trails. (The only disadvantage of this descent is that you end up in a road tunnel and have to ride a good 100m up in the tunnel to Andermatt. A light at the back is useful!

                  As we all know, you don't have to, not even cycling up the extremely busy and winding main road in the stench!
                  Alternatively, you can ride a short distance down (also the main road) and then leisurely cycle up the rock faces, away from traffic, on the old road (for pedestrians and bicycles only).
                  Both options carry the risk of crossing the safety line at least once (exception: approaching from below and returning up the gallery). The entrance/exit to the Bäz is not without its challenges...so CAUTION!
