A desert hike in Israel is a very special highlight and brings with it its own challenges. For example, You have to decide whether to carry 18-20 liters of water in addition to your luggage, or buried the valuable goods somewhere in the ground before the trip, or buried by someone. It depends on whether you survive the hike unscathed.

If you want to make it a bit easier on the first desert stage of the Shvil - and this stage really has it - you should take the backpack including the water for the next stages by taxi to the Yehoram Night Camp.
