Very nice route, even if a bit one-sided, but a must for tourists. You can't get that close to the sea on a bike tour everywhere. On the route you can stop for a break in: STAKENDORF, SCHÖNBERG, BRAZIL, CALIFORNIA and HEIDKATE directly on the dike. There are many different types of gastronomy here. The Hotel STRANDRÄUBER in California is particularly recommended. They have an old boat as a bar outside where there are small snacks, ice cream and something to drink. On the entire route you can reach the beach every few hundred meters at dyke breakthroughs. But watch out. In the Schönberg catchment area, entering the sandy beach is subject to a fee.
Coming from Kiel in the direction of Schönberg, the groynes (these are the T-shaped heaps of stones in the sea) are numbered.
These numbers are on signs directly at the Buhnenkopf AND WITH WHITE PAINT DIRECTLY ON THE ASPHALT.
