Anyone hoping for a via ferrata will be almost disappointed here.

You should certainly carry whatever equipment you need for this route
-Appropriate footwear
-Gloves
-Belt
-Y connector
-Helmet

But it is a very short passage

The note: Only for experienced people!
This certainly only refers to “sneaker hikers” who tend to overestimate themselves

Nothing can happen if you hold on tight to the wire rope, but you shouldn't necessarily look into the depths. However, if "oncoming traffic" comes from the direction of the summit cross, things can get tight and hectic!

As is so often the case, the dangers of the descent over the rocky, rugged and difficult to walk path up to the Kampenwand are underestimated and that the descent can actually surpass the ascent in terms of risk if you do not have the necessary climbing experience. Anyone with a little alpine experience will have no problems on the short section secured with a rope. For normal hikers it can be a bit exciting, as the path is steep in places and a little exposed, but it is doable if you hold on to the rope well. Using a via ferrata set to secure yourself here is probably a bit over the top for most people. You should let oncoming traffic pass first, then you will have more peace and quiet on the section of the path.

The path to the Steinlingalm is relatively easy to manage, despite some very steep passages (I left the cable car station in Aschau). From the Alm to the summit cross is very alpine with small climbing passages. However, the path is marked and easy to master with a little experience. Good shoes are highly recommended. The way back should be the same as the way there, all other junctions could lead into very impassable territory. The way back is very slippery due to scree and gravel paths, so be careful descending.
