    The alpine trail through the Höllschlucht is definitely one of the highlights of the Wilde Wasser hiking and water adventures.

    Along the Riesachbach, the trail first leads past the lower/small Riesach waterfall. Access to the water was also created at the Kleiner Riesach waterfall, so you can really feel the power of the water and the spray on your skin and face.

    We continue to the Great Riesach Waterfall, the largest waterfall in Styria. The roar of the waterfalls is a constant acoustic companion on the way there. From the bridge over the Great Riesach Waterfall, the actual alpine trail through the Höll Gorge begins.

    To get started, a 50-meter-long suspension bridge crosses the gorge at a dizzying height. Then it goes over a path and metal footbridges through the gorge in the direction of Riesachsee. The dynamics and power of the water can be imagined very well here by impressive washouts in the rock. In addition, viewing platforms into the gorge provide special insights.

              The Alpinsteig Höll offers wonderful views of the Riesach Falls. The path is passable with normal hiking equipment. You do not need climbing equipment. Surefootedness is nevertheless a prerequisite for a safe ascent.

              The path is well developed and leads over metal bridges and ladders along the Riesachbach. From soft splashing to the loud roaring of the waterfalls everything is there.

              A good starting point is the Almgasthaus Riesachfall. There are also enough parking spaces. Owners of the Dachstein Sommercard can either travel for free by bus or get a discount on the parking ticket.

              Attention: The upper part of the path is a "one way". Only the ascent to the Gfölleralm is allowed.
