With so many eaves paths that meander through the wild terrain along the rocks, a suspension bridge can only be seen as an unnecessary shortcut. Nothing for pleasure hikers. And yet one likes to cross the steel path again and again. Maybe only because it rocks so nicely.

Suspension bridge over the moat of Oberhohenberg Castle. This replaces the former drawbridge. The bridge takes you to the ruins of the castle complex on the 1,011 meter high mountain cone of the Oberhohenberg.

Nice short suspension bridge. However, it also swings quite a bit. If you are afraid of heights, you can avoid it.

A shaky affair when you cross the bridge but as an alternative there is an alternative route around it to get to the former castle. Since all that remains of the former castle is the octagonal tower, I wonder whether such a suspension bridge was really needed for it. This certainly wasn't cheap.
