The departures of the cable car (6 seats) are located a short distance from the village center of Breuil-Cervinia. From 2050 m above sea level it goes to Plan Maison at an altitude of 2,550 meters. Here is also the heart of the Matterhorn ski area, from where you can reach the Plateau Rosa with the Testa Grigia at 3500 meters and the Teodulo hill with further lifts.

The mountain stands in the Valais Alps between Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia. The east, north and west walls are on Swiss territory, the south wall on Italian territory.
In winter, winter sports are offered on the Matterhorn and Cervinia, in summer there are many opportunities for hiking on the mountain.

The Matterhorn is a 4478mt high mountain in the Alps, the seventh peak and third Italian mountain by altitude, located in the Western Alps along the border between Italy and Switzerland. In my opinion one of the 3 most beautiful mountains in Europe.
