Borgund Stave Church (Bokmål: Borgund stavkirke, Nynorsk: Borgund stavkyrkje) is a stave church in Lærdal Municipality in the Norwegian province of Sogn og Fjordane. It is one of the most outstanding examples of Norwegian stick building art, is one of the oldest wooden buildings in Europe and a tourist attraction.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at the visitor center before being admitted to the fenced area of the stave church across the street. Many buses with tourists arrive in the morning / late morning. If you arrive at lunchtime there is less going on because everyone is eating. 😜
