From November 15th, 2021 until probably November 28th, 2021 we have changed opening hours:

Mon from 11:00 a.m

Tue – Thu from 5:00 p.m

Fri – Sun from 11:00 a.m

Welcome to the world of Bautz'ner mustard

The actual name probably comes from the Egyptian and came to us via the Greek-Latin word SINAPIS, from which the term SENF became in modern German.

A distinction is made between the following types of mustard: Serepta mustard (brown mustard), black mustard, Indian brown mustard, oriental mustard and white mustard releases the pungently pungent tasting mustard oils.

Mustard has been produced in Bautzen since the early 1920s and in 1953 the VEB factory Bautz'ner Senf was founded. The recipe was retained and the popular mustard was offered throughout the former republic. In 1993, the Develey company took over the VEB and to this day produces the almost legendary "Bautz'ner" that is known throughout Germany according to the recipe that has been handed down.

Since 2008, the stone-ground mustard has been produced again according to the old tradition. This is only available from us in different flavors. Be captivated by the variety and enjoy this special taste experience!
