The wildest part is between Saint Jean le Thomas and the first Cabane Vauban. But the whole path between Saint Jean beach and Carolle beach is worth a detour. Allow 2 hours to browse it.

Part of the GR 223 (Tour du Cotentin) which links Carolles to Saint-Jean-le-Thomas via the cliffs of Champeaux. If your calves are strong, you will pass in front of the 3 Vauban huts which mark out this path. Do not miss them !

The customs officers' path, which actually consists of several small paths, owes its name to Gabelous, the Customs officer of the Ancien Régime under Sun King Louis XIV. From the 17th to the 20th century, the winding coastal paths served to protect the French inland from smugglers, raiders and customs fraudsters. The Zöllnerpfad with its almost 2,000 kilometers to the longest hiking trails in France. The current section is beautifully situated with a view of Mont Saint Michél.
