The church was built at the end of the 13th century as a hall church, a building without towers with a rectangular floor plan, made of boulders and bricks.

The interior was originally covered with a wooden ceiling. It was converted in the 17th century, and at that time a wooden bell tower was added to the west façade, where two bells were installed in 1613 and 1617. After the Second World War, the church fell into disrepair.

Until recently, the property and its surroundings were heavily overgrown, which made detailed photos practically impossible, and it also had no security or a board to inform about legal protection, which contributed to the continuing, unpunished devastation. Thanks to the efforts of the municipality and the residents of the city, the building and its surroundings are currently being cleaned. The retaining wall on the south side was also partially repaired. It is to be hoped that this work will be continued and that the ruin will be permanently secured so that one day you will be tempted to rebuild it. The changes that have occurred can be seen in the photos.

The round end of the central window in the east wall (the only one that has retained its original shape) with the simultaneous pointed arch shape of the south and west portal allows the church to be built around 1250.
