The Hüttenbühlsee is located in the immediate vicinity of the Hagerwaldsee and belongs to a total of eleven flood retention basins of the water association Kocher-Lein in Leintal and Kochertal to prevent the risk of flooding. The lake is used in summer as a bathing lake and offers for this Liegeflächen and designated fire pits. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed into the water.
