              The Stollberg dam is located near the town of the same name in the Ore Mountains. It dams the water of the Querenbach, which is why it is often called the Querenbachtalsperre. The dam was built from 1949 to 1954. Your dam is a 330-meter-long earthfill dam. The water is delivered to the waterworks and the Querenbach via a withdrawal tower in the reservoir.

              With a total storage space of 1.1 million cubic meters, the Stollberg dam is one of the smaller dams in Saxony. Their flood protection function is therefore limited. The main task of the dam is to supply the town of Stollberg and the surrounding villages with drinking water. In the waterworks, which is located directly at the foot of the dam, the raw water is processed into drinking water.
