From the outside, the Prokulus Church is rather inconspicuous, but inside you can marvel at a rare art treasure: The frescoes from the 8th century are among the most important wall paintings in Europe. The Church of St. Proculus in Naturno is one of the most famous monuments in South Tyrol. The frescoes, dating from the 7th century AD, depict scenes from the life of St. Proculus. They are among the most important art treasures in Central Europe, as they are the only early medieval frescoes from this period in continental Europe.
