The Romanesque fieldstone brick building dates from the 12th century. On the tower there is a transverse hipped roof resting on knags, underneath there is a room that is only accessible from the inside, which was probably used as a refuge for the population in times of need. A dendrochronological investigation carried out a few years ago found that the oldest wooden beams in the tower date back to the 14th century. The interior is covered by a wooden ceiling painted in the Renaissance style with plant ornaments. On the stone altar there is a plate with consecration crosses, which are believed to date from the 12th century

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John in Zeetze comes with its tower base and the rectangular nave from the late Romanesque period. The west tower made of bricks is late Gothic. The good painted wooden ceiling with tendril ornaments inside the Protestant church dates from the beginning of the 16th century; it was renovated in 1955.
