Along with the Höllental Gorge, it is the deepest gorge in the Bavarian Alps and the deepest rocky ravine in Central Europe. Around 300,000 visitors take the 2.5-kilometer hiking trail through the gorge every year (Wikipedia).

This is the lower entrance to the Breitachklamm Gorge. After walking a few meters into the gorge, you will reach the ticket booth.

The Breitachklamm Gorge is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the winter season. It is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the summer season. It is closed for a few weeks in spring and fall. Admission is €4.50 for adults and €1.50 for children.

While the area of the Breitachklamm, which is subject to a fee, offers concrete paths, the path to the upper reaches of the Breitach was developed with steel bridges, stairs and footbridges.
These are designed with gratings and thus you have a clear view of the abyss under your own feet. It's only a few meters (max. 15m), but for those who are afraid of heights, it's a tough challenge, including insurmountable obstacles.
Since rather coarse gratings were used, it is not possible for small dogs to walk on them (carry or turn around, there is no way around!), but even with large dogs one should consider that it is several hundred meters before closed areas are reached again.
A big setter approached me almost in panic, he wasn't really happy and probably had aching paws...
