Coming from Ortisei you first have to climb quite a few meters in altitude to enjoy this path ... after that it is a very nice trail that always leads up the slope to Selva.

The St. Jakob Trail goes from St. Christina to St. Ulrich through the forest on a path. Technically simple and very flowig. Finally, a bit technical (S1, rarely S2).
This path is a must if you are on holiday in Val Gardena!

It is said that St. James, patron saint of walkers and pilgrims, was baptized here. According to sources, it is the oldest church in the valley. In fact, it dates back to the 12th century, even if the current external aspect is Gothic; the interior decoration is Gothic and Baroque. Of great artistic value are the Gothic frescoes of the presbytery (late 15th century) and the wall paintings next to the pulpit, which tell the life of St. James and the high altar in carved wood with its worked columns and gilded figures of Princes of the Church, Apostles and Angels, precious testimony of the local art of woodworking (Vinazer-Pescosta brothers, around 1750).

Relatively easy trail, but you have to share it with hikers. You are tolerated as a biker, but not by everyone. Not recommended

Great trail, beginners can also ride it, officially the last part is to Sk.Ulrich (the path with the wooden railing is forbidden by bike, see sign, but we also rode it and didn't meet any hikers so be careful 🙋‍♂️
