The Harburg Fairy Tale Trail was launched in 2019 on the initiative of Gabi Steger and is now being planned, built and maintained by numerous volunteers from Harburg. All figures are made by hand in many hours.
Visiting the Harburg Fairytale Trail is free of charge and can be explored on your own at any time from May to October. Ms. Gabi Steger (e-mail: ga.steger@t-online.de) will be happy to offer special guided tours on the fairy tale trail.
Unfortunately, the paths on the Harburg Fairy Tale Trail, which is located in the area of Harburg Castle, are not accessible with prams!
The Harburg Fairytale Forest has been new since 2021. To do this, you have to leave the circular path at the upper castle car park and walk in the direction of the beautiful view. There is a nice playground at the edge of the forest and a large meadow that invites you to have a picnic. Many fairy tale characters are waiting for us along the way. This path is well suited for fairy tale lovers who are not so good on foot.

Nice path, but not completely safe in winter: danger of slipping and steep slope. If the worst comes to the worst, I wouldn't trust the protective fence.

From beginning to end, the fairy tale trail is beautifully decorated with embroidery and of course the many different fairy tale characters... from Cinderella, 7 dwarfs, to Mother Holle. Sleeping Beauty..Rumpelstiltskin, even Hogwarts with Dumbledore
Although my kids are over 18, we had a lot of fun there

Between the two doors, the path past the castle is no longer so easy. A narrow trail leads along part of the castle. On the other side, it descends steeply, not immediately visible due to the vegetation. Railings provide support. Everyone should be sure-footed.
