Castle ruins Starhemberg; an extensive formerly important castle on the "mons Starhenberch" north of Dreistetten. First, a Styrian plant, 1192 was the transfer of Styria and thus the castle to the Babenberger. Under Friedrich the strife a Palatinate expansion took place. After his death in 1246 she was briefly managed by the Teutonic Order. 1278 after the Battle of Dürnkrut the festivities went into Habsburg possession. In 1482 the castle was occupied by the Hungarian king Matthias Corvinus. After several Verwesern the castle was sold in 1590 to the Counts of Heussenstein, in whose possession she was over 200 years and the Turkish onslaught in 1683 resisted. Since 1913 it is owned by the Salvator Habsburg-Lorraine family.

It's best not to go up the Zischkasteig, as it's completely overgrown at the bottom, with thorn bushes up to chest height. But if you do want to, please only go up the Zischkasteig, not down.

Imposing Pallas remains that can be seen from the valley. The ruin is locked and the main gate is locked with a beam.
To avoid a roof tax, it was covered around 1800, windows and doors were removed.
