The highest source of the Spree is on the western slope of the Kottmar at a height of 478 meters. In 1921, a semi-circular phonolite stone wall was built around the source in a slope niche on the Kottmar, from which the Eibauer Spreequelle, also known as Buchenborn, emerges. It lists the hometowns of those who died in World War I and were members of the Lusatia Mountain Club. The complex surrounded by beech and spruce trees was renovated in 1957.

It lists the hometowns of World War I soldiers who were members of the Mountain Club Lusatia. The plant in the midst of red beech and spruce was renewed in 1957.
