The trail runs mostly very well. From the path, view axes open again and again on the meadows, which are kept short by some horses and cattle. We were able to observe different birds and some amphibians on our hike.

On 03/03/2017 I made the rounds around the Lange Dammwiesen in nice spring weather. There were cranes to see and hear, several tits were in the family planning. The highlight was the sighting of a brook with its 7 rookies. Since I was on the right side, I was not noticed. The meadow in front of me was actually only brown, a dark spot attracted my attention - luckily I had photo technology with me. In the pictures the "throwing kettle" is to be seen - the "straw heap", which is approx. 1 m long and 60 - 70 cm wide. A few minutes before the photo the whole family was still in it! There were several photos and a 4 minute film. The small family was not disturbed by my presence, she left the kettle and moved across the meadow first to the north and then to the south.
