St. Nikolai is a listed church in the town of Wettin in the municipality of Wettin-Löbejün in Saxony-Anhalt. The patron of the church on Nikolai-Kirchplatz is Nicholas of Myra.

The beginnings of the church go back to the 12th century. Over time the church underwent a number of structural changes. At the end of the 13th century it was rebuilt in the Gothic forms that still characterize the church building today. In 1290 the church was re-consecrated by Archbishop Erich of Magdeburg in honor of the Holy Cross. St. Nicholas of Myra was chosen as the namesake and patron saint.

Between 1500 and 1615 the church was completely rebuilt and enlarged. The presbytery was raised higher and equipped with large late Gothic windows, a new tabernacle and wall paintings. In 1589, another floor with a Renaissance stepped gable was added to the Romanesque church tower. The onion dome of the church tower dates from the early 17th century.

Little of the baroque interior, which was made possible by donations from citizens over the next few decades, remains in situ; most of it fell victim to renovations that had become necessary due to the increasing deterioration of the church. In 1902 the altar, choir galleries and gallery entrances were removed. The decay of the church was accelerated by sponge infestation, and from 1958 the church could no longer be used. From 1990 onwards, the tower, roofs and masonry were thoroughly renovated. In 1999, a support association was founded that strives to preserve and use the church for various events.
