The Saarbrücke Mettlach is a suspension bridge over the Saar in the Saarland municipality of Mettlach. It is the only steel suspension bridge in Saarland and has been a listed building since 2003.

Due to its past, Mettlach has numerous sights to offer.

Mettlach emerged from an abbey founded around 676 by the Franconian Duke Lutwinus - later Bishop of Trier. the monastery received under Abbot Lioffin around 990 an octagon church of St. Mary as a grave church for its founder. This "old tower" is the oldest preserved sacred building in Saarland. The abbey building that can be seen today was built in the 18th century. In 1792, French revolutionary groups looted the monastery, which was subsequently dissolved and secularized in 1794. In 1809 Jean Francois Boch-Buschmann bought the abbey building and set up a ceramics factory there, which quickly developed into a global company.
