At the old bakery, surrounded by other historic half-timbered houses, you should take a closer look at this beautiful bakery square. Since 2007, the city of Burgdorf has even housed a wedding room in one of the houses! Very nice place.

Built in 1643, the building initially served as a bakehouse and later as a storage facility. The association Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dorf e.V. Otze dismantled the building at the old location in 1982 and erected the Seims Backs in 1989 at its current location in the street Am Speicher. It is part of a complex of three buildings that form a courtyard. In the old warehouse in Otze called "Seims Backs" there is now an external marriage office of the Burgdorf registry office. The puristic wedding room of the lovingly restored half-timbered building can accommodate 25 guests. Details:

At the end of September, the one-week annual potato market (2018 it was September 23rd to 30th) takes place around this ensemble of buildings. Then there are long queues for delicious handmade potato pancakes and many other potato dishes. Once you've progressed as far down the potato pancake line as shown in the photo (taken September 2016), it takes less than 15 minutes to deliver the treat.
