The Crazy Horse Memorial is one of the most iconic landmarks in the Black Hills. Still under construction, it’s set to be the world’s largest mountain carving and honors the Lakota leader Crazy Horse. Even in its unfinished state, it’s an impressive sight and carries a powerful story about Native history and resistance.
You can see the sculpture from the road, but the visitor center offers a closer view, along with exhibits on Native American culture and the carving process.
