Beautiful hike in the Uri Alps in Uri in Switzerland: This tour goes around the Göscheneralp reservoir. This circular hike is known for the scenic beauty of the glaciers and the surrounding mountain ranges.
The hike begins at the post bus stop at the Dammagletscher mountain inn. First you cross the dam wall. Then a narrow path to the right of the reservoir zigzags up to the first rock step and slightly uphill to the Älpergen junction.
Over the Planggen you reach a footbridge that passes the Dammareuss. Then the path runs slightly downwards into the Chelenalptal. Again you cross a footbridge. This leads over the Chelenreuss.
On the second half of this wonderful circular hike, you follow a wide mountain path onto a terrace with a wonderful view down the valley. In the Berg area, the path goes through a unique moor landscape with a few laying pines.
Walking downwards in the last section, you come back to the starting point at the postbus stop not far from the dam.
