The historic water mill in the Lünzen district of Schneverding is a special mill. It is now Northern Germany's only double-wheel water mill.

The Lünzen watermill is idyllically situated on the mill pond, which is fed by the Veerse, in the small village. The first entries in the Rotenburg money register about the mill were found for the year 1587. In 1897 the mill was expanded into a double-wheel water mill. The mill was often expanded or rebuilt in order to meet the miller's requirements and his tasks.

In April 1945, just a few weeks before the end of the war, it was just possible to prevent the mill bridge from being blown up. The last entry in the mill book of the Lünzen water mill is for 1979, after the electric motor had already replaced the transmission in the previous decades.

Today the Lünzen water mill is a popular destination, especially for bike tours to or from Schneverdingen. The physical well-being is also taken care of by nearby restaurants.

The Lünzen watermill, which dates from the thirteenth century, is the last twin-wheel watermill in all of northern Germany.

Age will be with the visitor at every turn. Different eras of grinding devices or conveyor systems exist.

The water mill started generating electricity in 1905. These systems can be admired in the basement.
