        Very beautiful, old chapel near Frickhofen / Dorndorf on the basalt cone of the 390 m high Blasiusberg. A crossroads with 14 stations leads directly up to the church.
         The foresight is awesome - in good weather up to Feldberg, in the Taunus, Limburg basin.

            Blaise Chapel
            The Blasiusberg is a place of pilgrimage between the towns of Frickhofen, Dorndorf and Wilsenroth. People meet again and again in the chapel on the mountain to celebrate and pray together.

            Even in pre-Christian times there was a place of worship on the mountain, which was dedicated to the god Wotan. In the 8th century, the first wooden chapel on Blasiusberg was probably built, which was dedicated to the Archangel Michael. The first stone chapel was built around 1150. Today's chapel was built at the end of the 19th century after the previous building was destroyed by lightning. Today St. Blaise is not only the patron of the chapel, but also the patron of the parish of Sankt Blasius in the Westerwald (civil parishes Dornburg, Elbtal and Waldbrunn), which will be created in 2020.

            Regular services take place in the Blasius chapel:

            Christmas (25.12.) Pastoral mass at 6 a.m.
            Memorial Day of Saint Blaise (03.02.)
            Way of the Cross on Good Friday
            May devotions on Sundays in May
            Ascension Day (40th day of Easter)
            St. Laurentius (August 10th)
            Assumption of Mary (15.08.)
            Holy Trinity Sunday
