Sensenstein Castle was a border castle to Sichelstein Castle (Lower Saxony).
Today only high ramparts remind us of the size of the castle complex. The buildings have been completely demolished.
Today the district of Kassel and the State Sports Association of Hesse jointly operate the Sensenstein youth castle and sports training center near Nieste on the site.
