    The Doberan Minster was until the mid-16th century, the church of the Cistercian monastery Doberan. It is today the church of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation Bad Doberan in the provost Rostock in the church circle Mecklenburg of the Evangelical Lutheran church in north Germany (north church).
    The cathedral is one of the most important high Gothic brick buildings in the Baltic Sea region along the European Route of Brick Gothic.

            Right next to the church you will find the ossuary. The ossuary (Karner St. Michael) is a listed building on the monastery grounds in Bad Doberan.
            In addition to the Karner in Paderborn, he is the only building of its kind in northern Germany. It was added to the list of nationally important monuments in 2002.

            The Ossuary, also called the Death Lamp or the Michaeliska Chapel, was built around 1250 in the early Gothic style on the former cemetery north of the church. Here the bones of deceased monks, whose graves were newly occupied, were kept.
