    The Almtalerhaus is located at the foot of the Dead Mountains and can even be reached by car. It is therefore perfect as a base for day hikes in the mountains or as a stopover on a multi-day hike.

    The Almtalerhaus is open from May 1st to September 15th. More information and reservations at almtalerhaus.at

                            Attention: access to the Almtaler Haus is only possible from May 1st to September 14th! Important if you are planning a mountain tour and don't want to "take" the 6km to the hut (i.e. 12km there and back) with you. If you just want to hike to the waste lakes, then it doesn't matter ;)
