Plasse's Resort, situated on Silver Lake along the famous Kit Carson Immigrant Trail. The resort was founded in 1853 by a spirited young French immigrant, Ramón Pierre Plasse, and soon became home to his wife Louise.
163 years later, Plasse's Resort is recognized as one of the oldest campgrounds in the United States by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
